is for adults with metastatic colorectal cancer who have previously been
treated with other medications.
●How it works:Stivarga® slows the growth of tumor cells in
the colon and eventually kills the tumor cells.Stivarga® also helps to
stop tumor cells from spreading into other parts of the colon.
●Most common side effects:Tiredness, weakness, fatigue, loss of
appetite, diarrhea, swelling of mouth, throat, stomach, and intestines, weight
loss, infections, and voice changes or hoarseness.
●Serious side effects:Liver problems, severe bleeding, skin
problems, skin rash, high blood pressure, a tear in your stomach or intestines,
wound healing problems, and a reversible condition that causes headache,
confusion, seizures, and visual loss called leukoencephalopathy syndrome.
●Who cannot use this medication:Children cannot take Stivarga®
●Dose:Stivarga®
is available as a 160 mg tablet that is taken by mouth once a day with a
low-fat meal.
